The annual Great Migration is a wonderful and exciting experience and is regarded as “The Greatest Show on Earth”. The herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle generally move in a clockwise direction throughout the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem – a movement for which this safari has been designed to follow, knowing the best location for specific times of year is of paramount importance. The exact route of the migrating herbivores depends on the weather and where the grass is greener, however, the migration does tend to follow the same, or a similar, pattern year after year, which means that you can have a good idea of where to locate yourself.
July: The herds head towards the north of the Serengeti. The river crossings, considered by some the most exciting events of the Great Migration, usually start in July, but timing all depends on the rains.
August to October: The herds can be found in the Northern Serengeti as well as in Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Daily
