Discover the heart of Tanzania’s wildlife on an unforgettable safari combining Ndutu, Central Serengeti, and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. This classic northern circuit safari offers exceptional game viewing, dramatic landscapes, and some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife experiences. From the Great Migration in Ndutu to year-round predators in Serengeti and the natural wonder of Ngorongoro Crater, this journey is perfect for wildlife lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers.
Ndutu Safari Experience
The Ndutu area, located in the southern Serengeti ecosystem, is best known for hosting the Great Wildebeest Migration between December and March. During this time, vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles gather on the short grass plains for calving season. This attracts large numbers of predators including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, making Ndutu one of the best wildlife viewing destinations in Tanzania.
Beyond the migration season, Ndutu remains rich in wildlife and offers a quieter, more exclusive safari experience with beautiful lakes, woodlands, and open plains.
Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley)
The Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera region, is the wildlife hub of Serengeti National Park and offers incredible game viewing throughout the year. This area is famous for its high concentration of big cats, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Permanent water sources such as the Seronera River attract elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, and countless bird species.
Game drives in Central Serengeti provide classic African safari scenery—endless plains, rocky kopjes, and dramatic sunsets—making it one of the best places in Africa for wildlife photography.
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
A visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the perfect finale to your safari. The crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and hosts over 25,000 animals within its walls. Here, you can spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the rare black rhino—in a single game drive.
The crater floor features diverse ecosystems including open grasslands, swamps, forests, and Lake Magadi, home to flamingos and other birdlife. With its high wildlife density and breathtaking views, Ngorongoro Crater offers one of the most rewarding safari experiences in Africa.
